These following elongated skulls were discovered all over the globe, including in Malta, Australia, Egypt, and even in Africa, Antarctica, the Black Sea, Peru, etc. Many believe that they were constructed through rituals and techniques that contained strange practices including the flattening and binding of the skull of the infant. These were done originally for aesthetic or religious reasons.
Since this was such a widely spread practice, many believe that the artificial deformation of the skull was done to imitate the skulls of the gods they worshipped. As we know by now, these gods were very powerful, so resembling them would be akin to being one of the chosen ones by that god, which gave them a lot of power and respect in society. But there are cases of elongated skulls even showing up naturally, such as the case of Akhenaten and Nefertiti, the rulers of A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ Egypt.
They were said to have suffered from the Marfan syndrome, which was caused by the fact that A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ Egyptians practiced incest at all times in order to preserve the bloodline. Whether or not Nefertiti had it though naturally, nobody knows for sure, as she could have copied the look from Akhenaten. But, that’s not all, as in 1928 a whole slew of A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ tombs were discovered in a Peruvian cemetery. Almost 300 skulls were elongated here, as they were sent to Canada and the US to be stud̳i̳e̳d.
To their surprise, these A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ people known as the Paracas were all naturally elongated, to begin with, which means they either all suffered from the Marfan syndrome, either they were different than the rest, to begin with. They are said to date back to 2000 years ago.
